A cookie banner is a notification that often appears when you visit a website for the first time. It informs you about the use of cookies and other tracking technologies on that website and asks for your consent to store these cookies on your device. The following items must be included in the text of your cookie banner:
- The first layer of the banner must contain the identity of the entity responsible for placing or reading the cookies, as well as the number of partners. You can find an example below.
- The first layer of the banner should also provide context about the different categories and how you can accept, reject, and reset your cookie preferences.
When your jobsite is visited for the first time, candidates can set their cookie preferences in the cookie banner. You can add your own text to this cookie banner.
- Go to Settings > Tracking & cookies.
- Scroll to the bottom of this page to ‘Cookie policy’.
- In the text field, you can include a short description of the cookies your candidates agree to. This text is displayed at the top of the cookie banner when someone visits the site. At the bottom of the page, you can also upload your cookie policy. The link to your policy will then be placed in the cookie banner. This way, visitors can easily find their way to your own cookie policy.
- Click on ‘Save changes’.
